Three New Members of Congress Join as Cosponsors of the SOAR Act
Running On Air, Inc. is pleased to announce that three additional members of Congress have joined as cosponsors of the Supplemental Oxygen Access Reform (SOAR) Act, continuing to build bipartisan support for legislation aimed at improving access to supplemental oxygen for patients across the United States.
On May 14, Chris Pappas, U.S. Representative for New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District, Sanford Bishop, U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 2nd Congressional District, and Nicholas Langworthy, U.S. Representative for New York’s 23rd Congressional District, officially signed on as cosponsors of the legislation. Their support reflects growing recognition among lawmakers of the challenges faced by individuals who rely on supplemental oxygen therapy to manage chronic and serious respiratory conditions.
The SOAR Act is designed to address long-standing issues involving access to quality oxygen equipment, patient mobility, supplier services, and reimbursement structures that affect oxygen users nationwide. Advocates and patient organizations have emphasized that many oxygen-dependent individuals continue to face barriers to obtaining reliable equipment and appropriate support for daily living and travel.
Running On Air and other patient advocacy organizations continue working with lawmakers, healthcare professionals, and members of the respiratory community to encourage additional support for the legislation. The addition of these three House members marks another step forward in raising awareness about the importance of protecting access to safe, reliable supplemental oxygen therapy for patients and caregivers throughout the country.
