Running on Air Launches Conference Highlights Series
In 2024 the World Bronchiectasis Conference was held in Dundee Scotland. It had been in New York City the previous year, and patients had in person and virtual access to the scientific talks. The rules for patients attending medical conferences are different in Europe, and there was no access to the scientific talks, either virtually or in person, for patients. Bronchiectasis and NTM patients voiced their displeasure about this lack of access to information, updates and scientific research that affected them.
To fill that void, Running On Air hosted “Highlights from the 2024 World Bronchiectasis Conference” and Professor James Chalmers, one of the conference organizers. The webinar was well received and allowed patients to hear directly from a world renown bronchiectasis expert, explaining the latest research and topics along with slides used by the conference speakers.
The conference was such a success we decided to host “Highlights from the 2025 World Bronchiectasis Conference”, which was held in Brisbane Australia, and then hosted a few other conference highlight webinars.
This led us to create our Conference Highlights Series (CHS) for 2026. We will feature seven webinars, with experts in bronchiectasis and NTM, giving the research highlights and breaking news from the following major scientific conferences:
- North American Bronchiectasis and NTM Conference – December
- Respiratory Infections Conference – March 10 at 1 pm
- ATS Conference – May/June
- World Bronchiectasis Conference – June/July
- PCD Conference – August/September
- European Respiratory Society Conference – September
- CHEST Conference – October
